{"product_id":"0085391130727","title":"Local Hero","description":"\"An unexpected cult hit from the early 1980s, Bill Forsyth's Local Hero hearkened back to Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger's I Know Where I'm Going -- both quirky comedies set in Scotland that derived their humor from characters and situations rather than obvious jokes. The film, produced by David Puttnam, was a sleeper hit and went on to find a wide international audience. The DVD edition is a solid transfer of a recent film, presented in its matted, 1.85:1 aspect ratio on one side and full-screen on the other. The letterboxed image is to be preferred, containing a fair amount of picture information on the sides that is cut off in the full-screen edition, on which every image appears artificially enlarged. The audio is identical on each, very clean and defined, and the image has beautiful resolution. Either side goes directly to the movie unless the viewer selects the menu or tries to skip past the opening Warner corporate logo (which diverts viewers to the menu), and the menu automatically sets on \"\"scene selection\"\" but is simple enough to negotiate. A theatrical trailer, which successfully captures the comedic and mystical elements of the movie, is included on both sides. There are 35 chapters that break the film down conveniently.\"","brand":"WARNER HOME VIDEO","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":47084811845872,"sku":"0085391130727","price":9.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0737\/7593\/9824\/files\/0085391130727_p0.jpg?v=1763374069","url":"https:\/\/shop-qa.barnesandnoble.com\/products\/0085391130727","provider":"Barnes \u0026 Noble (DEV)","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
