Rush Hour

"New Line's Platinum Series of DVDs has put out an interactive disc with features as fun as the film itself. While the stars of Rush Hour are Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker, the star of this DVD is the film's director Brett Ratner. Ratner's audio commentary is a lightning-fast rant of asides that fills the viewer in on every production detail as it happens. Other Brett Ratner highlights include his NYU student film Whatever Happened to Mason Reese? (with or without director commentary) as well as two Ratner rap music videos (also with or without commentary). Another treat is seven short deleted scenes, as well as an isolated score track with commentary from composer Lalo Schifrin. It's interesting, but not as chaotic as the on-the-set home movies of the cast and crew, all part of an awesome behind-the-scenes featurette. Finally, for those who still need more, PC-friendly software for DVD-ROM users lets viewers access screen savers, interactive games, the entire screenplay and more."
