Daniel won his Eagle Scout award, desiring to enter a two-day cross country run that only Eagle’s were permitted to enter.  He asked Tommy to carry him over the course, desiring to participate before he died.  Tommy agreed, but only if they entered to win.      Tommy’s strategy was to run the first day, sleep no more than two hours, then run to the end of the race.  It was their only chance with his added burden of carrying his friend in a sling on his back.  He prepared for the grueling trial by training with a martial arts expert who saw in Tommy the heart and soul of a champion.
