The mode of communication, however, may be\u003cbr\u003e          mediate. Revelation does not cease to be such if God's message\u003cbr\u003e          is delivered to us by a prophet, who alone is the recipient of\u003cbr\u003e          the immediate communication. Such in brief is the account of\u003cbr\u003e          Revelation given in the Constitution \"De Fide Catholica\" of the\u003cbr\u003e          Vatican Council. The Decree \"Lamentabili\" (3 July, 1907), by its\u003cbr\u003e          condemnation of a contrary proposition, declares that the dogmas\u003cbr\u003e          which the Church proposes as revealed are \"truths which have\u003cbr\u003e          come down to us from heaven\" (veritates e coelo delapsoe) and\u003cbr\u003e          not \"an interpretation of religious facts which the human mind\u003cbr\u003e          has acquired by its own strenuous efforts\" (prop., 22).
