She chooses to become closer friends with Tom so she can teach him the truth. Tom is a grandson of a local pastor and a strong believer in Jesus and the Bile.\u003cbr\u003e     At home, Ted, Tom’s younger brother becomes the target of Frank’s disapproval for what his sons are doing with their lives. Ted leaves home for the summer taking a job at a Bible camp in Gaylord. While at camp his faith grew stronger as he was able to attend many worship sessions.\u003cbr\u003e    Tom and Sally meet as often as possible and while much of their conversation centers on religion, they become romantically attracted. \u003cbr\u003e     While at the camp Tom begins a nightly Bible reading group and forms a brass combo that began with three people but ended up with five. Sally forms a string quartet.\u003cbr\u003e     During the Fourth of July weekend Tom, Sally, and two of their friends go to Traverse City to the Cherry Festival. While there they are arrested for a bank robbery they did not commit.\u003cbr\u003eTed is sexually approached by one of the employees at the camp where he is working. When he refuses she charges him with sexual assault and he is arrested. He loses his job at the camp because of the crime he allegedly committed. \u003cbr\u003e     When Tom and his friends were arrested they were able to give a description of a possible suspect’s vehicle. Will the police find the real robbers? \u003cbr\u003e     Ted is called by the camp director to return for the last three weeks of the camping season to be in charge of the kitchen, Ted accepts the offer.\u003cbr\u003e     Tom and his friends receive a reward from Silent Observer for helping to find the bank robbers. What will they do with the money? The brass combo and the string quartet members all receive a surprise reward.\u003cbr\u003e     While Tom tries to explain to Sally what it means to be “born again” she becomes angry and calls off their relationship. Tom expresses his sorrow by playing the Beatles’ song “Yesterday” several times. But that evening he meets another girl from the camp. Sally decides to use the Bible to prove Tom wrong but during her study she becomes a believer.\u003cbr\u003e     Sally tells him the argument was her fault and she wants to make up.
