I shall venture after dinner to say a few words to him\u003cbr\u003eupon the subject. I have always found that he will tolerate from me what\u003cbr\u003ehe would resent from any other member of the crew. Amsterdam Island,\u003cbr\u003eat the north-west corner of Spitzbergen, is visible upon our starboard\u003cbr\u003equarter--a rugged line of volcanic rocks, intersected by white seams,\u003cbr\u003ewhich represent glaciers.
