A story we must share with you.
Natalie Beyer was a distraught woman who married for money, then fled to restrict her twins, Kyle and Nola, to a damp, chilly, totally enclosed Pennsylvania basement of misery.
These two children guided them-selves through horror, adventure, and fantasy; taking them to the limits of their imagination, while living one of the greatest fears known to man: captivity.
Because of their style of living, we have named them, Children of the Skeleton Trees.
These children conquer an escape from their basement horror of nine years, to the forest; a timeless place of wonder, leaving behind many writings of themselves.
Our dream has been to release the imagination of this poetry as an outline of tears, fears, thoughts, smiles, hidden secrets, phantoms and nightmares, with true reflections and stirs of spirituality. The spelling and grammar contained in the children’s poetry leaves a lot to speculation. We have attempted to interpret the meanings in order to have a greater understanding of what they were writing.
Much of their writings are on dead blood-stained leaves, mostly from children decoyed or snatched by Natalie. Originally, these leaves were left in the basement after their mother sealed the doorway where they once blew in and out from fall skeleton trees in the yard.
Their poetry is written in crayon and markers and pressed between the pages of books that their mother used to teach them.
The thrill of their poetry is so exciting; it keeps you craving for more. It has left an impression forever in our hearts and minds, with hope that the scars these children suffered will NEVER take place again.
The Children of the Skeleton Trees are seen occasionally, still living in the forest, occupying many miles of ground, and no communication with anyone.
The story behind the Children of the Skeleton Trees is in the making.
