Mount Munch\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eOn the east edge of the Land of Oz, in the Munchkin Country, is a big,\u003cbr\u003etall hill called Mount Munch.  One one side, the bottom of this hill\u003cbr\u003ejust touches the Deadly Sandy Desert that separates the Fairyland of Oz\u003cbr\u003efrom all the rest of the world, but on the other side, the hill touches\u003cbr\u003ethe beautiful, fertile Country of the Munchkins.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe Munchkin folks, however, merely stand off and look at Mount Munch\u003cbr\u003eand know very little about it; for, about a third of the way up, its\u003cbr\u003esides become too steep to climb, and if any people live upon the top of\u003cbr\u003ethat great towering peak that seems to reach nearly to the skies, the\u003cbr\u003eMunchkins are not aware of the fact.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eBut people DO live there, just the same.  The top of Mount Munch is\u003cbr\u003eshaped like a saucer, broad and deep, and in the saucer are fields\u003cbr\u003ewhere grains and vegetables grow, and flocks are fed, and brooks flow\u003cbr\u003eand trees bear all sorts of things.  There are houses scattered here\u003cbr\u003eand there, each having its family of Hyups, as the people call\u003cbr\u003ethemselves.
