The Feeder is unique among all magic users in that it has the ability to absorb others magic turning them into a walking dead, dying at its command if need be. The demonic force sends its armies to destroy the peaceful Gelds that shelter and teach Merrick. He is forced with a decision, either run or stay and fight. Along the way he discovers that he is the only person alive who can stop the wanton destruction of the Feeder.
