I got sucked in (literally) to the love triangle of Jack, Peter and Alice. The idea of a soul mate who doesn't want to be with you, but doesn't want you with anyone else made the book stand out. Characters were three-dimensional, and one can easily relate to Alice. The teens in the book dressed and talked like everyday teenagers.
