It was here that he laid the famous\u003cbr\u003e\"spread\" to which the chiefs of the warring factions of the Republican\u003cbr\u003eConvention sat down in June, 1888, and from which they arose with\u003cbr\u003easperities softened, differences harmonized and victory organized.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eMrs. F.L.
