All have been adapted to film.\u003cbr\u003eIn the early 1920s, he spent several years as private secretary to the Maharajah of Dewas, India.\u003cbr\u003eBased on his experiences in the East, he published A Passage to India which was awarded the James Tait Black Memorial Prize for fiction.
