Using this principle is called slipstreaming.”\u003cbr\u003e(The above is from the Wikipedia Page on Slipstream \u0026amp; Slipstreaming)\u003cbr\u003eYou've probably heard that while driving on the highway, if you position your\u003cbr\u003evehicle behind another larger vehicle, your vehicle requires less energy to stay it\u003cbr\u003ein motion, therefore you burn less fuel.\u003cbr\u003eIf you watch car racing, like the Brickyard 400 or Indy 500, you'll notice how most\u003cbr\u003eof the cars follow immediately behind another car because there's less wind\u003cbr\u003eresistance in those positions. The lead car “breaks a path” through the air for the\u003cbr\u003eones behind. They burn less fuel and in some cases are actually “sucked along”\u003cbr\u003ebecause there's less air pressure.\u003cbr\u003eIt's simple physics that can be applied to a lot of different situations. And when\u003cbr\u003eapplied as a marketing tactic it can be extremely beneficial for both the “lead\u003cbr\u003evehicle” and the ones in the slipstream.\u003cbr\u003eLets look at an example of Slipstream Marketing in action.\u003cbr\u003eBack in late 2004 I published and released an ebook called RSS Exposed. It was\u003cbr\u003ethe first ebook ever written on how the use of RSS technology and blogging could\u003cbr\u003ebe used in a marketing enviroment.\u003cbr\u003eAt the time, RSS and blogging was still virtually unheard of in Internet Marketing\u003cbr\u003ecircles. People didn't understand the technology behind it, or the implications of\u003cbr\u003eutilizing it as part of their marketing efforts.\u003cbr\u003eSlipstream Marketing 3\u003cbr\u003eAt first, the curiosity seekers purchased this new book. Then, once the lightbulb\u003cbr\u003ewent off in their heads after gaining an understanding from the book, people\u003cbr\u003estarted posting about it on blogs and forums and sales ballooned almost\u003cbr\u003eovernight.\u003cbr\u003eWithin weeks, several other books, reports and courses on RSS popped up on\u003cbr\u003ethe net and did very well in the wake of RSS Exposed. Many were copycatters\u003cbr\u003ewith nothing really innovative in them, but many made some incredible\u003cbr\u003eimprovements which in and of themselves set the stage for producing their own\u003cbr\u003eSlipstream products. And we're still seeing the ripple effect of the RSS Exposed\u003cbr\u003ephenomenon to this day.\u003cbr\u003eThat book isn't being offered any more. Updating it and trying to improve on or\u003cbr\u003ecreate something different and marketable after all that commotion and\u003cbr\u003ewidespread innovation would be nearly impossible at this point, so I let the project\u003cbr\u003edie off.\u003cbr\u003eAnother example of Slipstream Marketing in action would be another product I\u003cbr\u003ereleased in early 2005. It was called Content Cash Inferno.\u003cbr\u003eThis time, rather than my product being the “Lead Vehicle” that created the initial\u003cbr\u003eSlipstream, I jumped in behind a product someone else created. Joel Comm's\u003cbr\u003eAdsense Secrets ebook was just gaining momentum in the marketplace and I\u003cbr\u003esaw an opportunity to create a product that filled a small void in Joel's product\u003cbr\u003eand marketing.\u003cbr\u003eJoel gave a lot of instruction and advice in his book and to this day it's still the #1\u003cbr\u003eadsense book out there, but he concentrated on the techniques he used to create\u003cbr\u003ebig money with his system. Not a problem, but most people, especially newbies,\u003cbr\u003esimply didn't want to or didn't know how to create the long term traffic and profits\u003cbr\u003eJoel had built over his many years online. There was a missing element.\u003cbr\u003eThere was nothing for the newbies who wanted immediate success; the people\u003cbr\u003ewho wanted immediate results.\u003cbr\u003eSo I filled that gap with Content Cash Inferno by giving people a simple, easy to\u003cbr\u003eduplicate plan that was virtually guaranteed to make them small amounts of\u003cbr\u003emoney with AdSense in the short term. Then, by showing them some simple\u003cbr\u003emath and duplication procedures, how those small amounts would add up to a\u003cbr\u003esignificant income over time. That CCI report made me a LOT of money.\u003cbr\u003eSlipstream Marketing 4\u003cbr\u003eBut it didn't end there.\u003cbr\u003eYou see, CCI was marketed through a large community of extremely high\u003cbr\u003etargeted potential customers. It's a virtual marketing test-bed for any product\u003cbr\u003erelated to Internet Marketing or making money online.
