2940015734768
Centauri
Alpha Centauri, a triple-star system closest to Sol, was the home to the three predominant species of the galaxy; reptilians inhabited the Alpha Centauri A system, humans inhabited the Alpha Centauri B system, and simians inhabited the Alpha Centauri Proxima system. All three species were slow to develop technology to allow them access to the void with any comfort, mainly because each continued to disagree on the simplest of ideologies… at least until an alien race mentored the three civilizations, bringing peace to each of their planets while advancing their technology according to their abilities to understand it. Just as it seemed that peace and unity would develop for each of the Alpha Centauri systems, a far superior race of reptilian beings, the Titans, invaded their systems while in route to the Sol system. One of the Titans from a previous failed invasion trailed the main battleship in an effort to catch up to it. The pilot’s craft malfunctioned when it reached Alpha Centauri B, crashing on Rigil, among the humans.
In the Terran year 3180 AD, Jordun awoke and went to work the way he did every day. His position as a computer analyst afforded him luxuries beyond what the government granted the six social classes below him. He gave little thought to their plight until he met Ariel, a woman from a working class just below the supervisors. He saw her one morning in his dining facility, one that she’d never used before, even though it was a privilege of her upper working class. Jordon’s position allowed him access to files that identified her. A clandestine meeting with her one night changed his life, causing him to question everything, from the data in the simple reports he generated, to life in general, in the underground city of Haven. Yes, something was wrong within the city, beginning with the mysterious man who controlled every aspect of life within the city. The more answers he sought from the computer system, the more classified the information became that he received. Who could be feeding him such previously unobtainable information that was far above his access level, though, and why?
Suddenly, unexplainably, Jordun found himself as a member of the lowest class. Why was he constantly at odds with the system such that he feared for his life and Ariel’s? He began to remember information that caused him to search for answers to seemingly irrelevant questions, such as what happened to other people from before the war, the Mystics of old? Jordun found himself fighting just to stay alive, first within Haven, then to escape her, and finally, once on the surface, in a world that was alien to him. Jordun discovered that he had newly acquired powers and the ability to summon them that even the Mystics didn’t have. By chance, he met the Mystics, but their way of life was also in trouble of collapse if they couldn’t find the ancient source of their power that remained lost for a thousand years. Tyranny had been part of the lives of his own people for too long… could he be the person foretold who would save the people of Haven from the certain death planned for them. Would the Mystics help?
Saving his people would definitely be important, but to allow the tyrant to flee to another planet, another star system without paying for his crimes just wouldn’t be right. Diverse species, multiple cultures come together to right the wrong that proliferated for too long. Destruction is significant, but the will to live is stronger. Follow Jordun as he lives well, finds love, learns who he really is and fights to save the people of Haven from certain death.
