2940015828139
Finding Jesus — everybody will serve something
This is a story of a young man whose loving mother brought him, and his two sisters, up in a military life style. This is a story shaped by a lonely, transient childhood, a story of absent or abusive father figures, and the folly of youth. This is a story of how God pursues the broken and makes them whole. This, this is my story.
Throughout my early years, my family moved around a lot, which made it hard for me to keep friends. It didn't help that I was shy and never liked school. Though, the latter was likely because I had a hard time learning to read and write.
But, for as long as I can remember, I dreamt of having a wife, and a small family of my own, when I grew up, but my own choices kept that dream from becoming reality.
Somewhere in my early teens, in a 60's era school, I turned into a hippie. Back then, long hair, bellbottom jeans, smoking pot, and ditching school were considered cool, and I did my best to stay in style. My parents had a difficult time with us kids. Mainly because my sisters and I did not even try to be good children. It didn't help that my big sister ran away to get married at 14.
Through drugs, alcohol, and a criminal conviction, I ended up in California, in a church youth group. That's where I met Jay. She was an angel, my angel, and I thought that she was my salvation. She was my license to change who I was, but, instead, I drove the joy from her life and turned her into a devil. We were married for over 30 years, before I had to learn to love her enough to let her be happy; that was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. I lost all will to live and let sin dominate my life. I tried to drown the guilt in alcohol and numb the shame with drugs, but, in the end, God led me to the foot of the cross; that is why this book is called, Finding Jesus.
My battle with alcoholism, and other addictions, almost killed me.
It seemed like I couldn't die to be free, so I needed to find something to take the pain away. Then, maybe, I could live with myself. When you read this book I hope it will show you how to live with God in mind and overcome addiction.

Redeemed From Bondage in Egypt
When Moses grows up he kills an Egyptian guard when he sees him beating a Hebrew slave. Moses had to flee for his life. In the desert he joins the family of Jethro, a Midian priest, He became a shepherd for Jethro's flock and one day, while out tending the sheep, Moses seen a bush on fire but it was not being consumed or burned up.
The God of the burning bush is a compassionate God. His intention is to deliver the Israelites from Egyptian bondage God's deliverance of His people is also based upon His compassion for them in the midst of their affliction.
