She combines the duty of being a mother with her work as a scientist.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eShe has invented a lot of inventions together with her husband.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWarren is the father of the children.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eHe is a senior scientist with the Defense Science and Technology Organization.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eHe has about two hundred inventions to his name.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eUncle John is a friend of the parents of Jason and Jane.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eHe is the inventor of the Time Travel Watch who was featured in a short story “The Story of The Time Travel Watch” where he invented the watch to bring back his father to the future so that he can save him from a burst cerebral aneurysm.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eSince that story he has been travelling in time to save many friends from misadventure.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eHe is very close to the family of Warren and Alison.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eTom is a supervisor to Warren in the Defense Science and Technology Organization.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eHe is the villain in this story and has employed two men to kidnap Warren.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFortunately Uncle John was able to spoil his plans.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eChapter 1\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe Missing Parents\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eJason and Jane are two schoolchildren who thought they are ordinary children until one day they return home and find their parents missing.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e“Dad, Mum, we are back!” they shouted as they enter their house and threw their schoolbags on the floor.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eNormally their parents work from home and will greet them when they come back from school.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eJason was thirteen while Jane was nine years old.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e“They are not here” exclaimed Jason.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e“Maybe they have gone shopping” replied Jane.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e“I’m hungry “ said Jason and helped himself to a jar of cookies.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThey brought their schoolbags upstairs to their rooms and started doing their homework.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eBy 5pm they have finished their homework.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e“Mum and Dad are not back yet” exclaimed Jane “They are never that late before”\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e“Mum and Dad will be home soon.” Said Jason “Let us watch watch some Futurevision”.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eTheir Futurevision projects a video of a film right in the middle of the room in 3D.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAfter 1 hour of watching a funny documentary on how to fly to the moon, Jason and Jane became worried.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThey called their parents’ phones but there were no answers.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThey called all their parents’ friends but none have seen them.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e“Maybe they are somewhere in the house but injured or some thing” said Jane ever the pessimist.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eJason and Jane went around the house calling “Dad” and “Mum” as they searched for their parents.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThey went to the kitchen and all the rooms of the house until they reached their parents’ workroom.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eOn one table there was a computer left on while the other table was messy with papers all over the table.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e“Hmm” said Jason “Look like they were busy with something and left in a hurry!”\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eJason went to the computer and tried to see if there any messages left for them.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThere were none.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eJane in the meantime was looking at the books on their parents’ bookshelf behind their desks.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThere was a book called “The Story of the Time Travel Watch”.
