they are become her enemies.\u003cbr\u003e1:3 Judah is gone into captivity because of affliction, and because of great servitude;\u003cbr\u003eshe dwells among the nations, she finds no rest:\u003cbr\u003eall her persecutors overtook her within the straits.\u003cbr\u003e1:4 The ways of Zion do mourn, because none come to the solemn assembly;\u003cbr\u003eall her gates are desolate, her priests do sigh:\u003cbr\u003eher virgins are afflicted, and she herself is in bitterness.\u003cbr\u003e1:5 Her adversaries are become the head, her enemies prosper;\u003cbr\u003efor Yahweh has afflicted her for the multitude of her transgressions:\u003cbr\u003eher young children are gone into captivity before the adversary.\u003cbr\u003e1:6 From the daughter of Zion all her majesty is departed:\u003cbr\u003eher princes are become like harts that find no pasture,\u003cbr\u003ethey are gone without strength before the pursuer.\u003cbr\u003e1:7 Jerusalem remembers in the days of her affliction and of her miseries all her pleasant things that were from the days of old:\u003cbr\u003ewhen her people fell into the hand of the adversary, and none did help her,\u003cbr\u003eThe adversaries saw her, they did mock at her desolations.\u003cbr\u003e1:8 Jerusalem has grievously sinned; therefore she is become as an unclean thing;\u003cbr\u003eall who honored her despise her, because they have seen her nakedness:\u003cbr\u003eyes, she sighs, and turns backward.\u003cbr\u003e1:9 Her filthiness was in her skirts; she didn't remember her latter end;\u003cbr\u003etherefore is she come down wonderfully; she has no comforter:\u003cbr\u003esee, Yahweh, my affliction; for the enemy has magnified himself.\u003cbr\u003e1:10 The adversary has spread out his hand on all her pleasant things:\u003cbr\u003efor she has seen that the nations are entered into her sanctuary,\u003cbr\u003econcerning whom you did command that they should not enter into your assembly.\u003cbr\u003e1:11 All her people sigh, they seek bread;\u003cbr\u003ethey have given their pleasant things for food to refresh the soul:\u003cbr\u003elook, Yahweh, and see; for I am become abject.\u003cbr\u003e1:12 Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by?\u003cbr\u003eLook, and see if there be any sorrow like my sorrow, which is brought on me,\u003cbr\u003eWith which Yahweh has afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.\u003cbr\u003e1:13 From on high has he sent fire into my bones, and it prevails against them;\u003cbr\u003eHe has spread a net for my feet, he has turned me back:\u003cbr\u003eHe has made me desolate and faint all the day.\u003cbr\u003e1:14 The yoke of my transgressions is bound by his hand;\u003cbr\u003eThey are knit together, they are come up on my neck; he has made my strength to fail:\u003cbr\u003eThe Lord has delivered me into their hands, against whom I am not able to stand.\u003cbr\u003e1:15 The Lord has set at nothing all my mighty men in the midst of me;\u003cbr\u003eHe has called a solemn assembly against me to crush my young men:\u003cbr\u003eThe Lord has trodden as in a winepress the virgin daughter of Judah.\u003cbr\u003e1:16 For these things I weep;
