This directive stipulates that Federal\u003cbr\u003eagencies are to design, construct, manage, operate, and maintain their facilities to conform with\u003cbr\u003eFederal, State, interstate, and local water quality\u003cbr\u003estandards and effluent limitations in accordance\u003cbr\u003ewith the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, as\u003cbr\u003eamended. This manual will assist field offices and\u003cbr\u003ecommands in formulating water pollution prevention, control, and abatement programs to meet\u003cbr\u003erequirements established in the Executive Order\u003cbr\u003ewhich include the following:\u003cbr\u003e–Assurance that all applicable water quality\u003cbr\u003estandards and effluent limitations are met on\u003cbr\u003ea continuing basis.\u003cbr\u003e–Development of an abatement plan and schedule for meeting applicable standards.\u003cbr\u003e–Presentation of an annual plan for funding of\u003cbr\u003eimprovements in the design, construction,\u003cbr\u003emanagement, operation, and maintenance of\u003cbr\u003eexisting and new facilities as may be necessary to meet applicable standards.\u003cbr\u003e–Consideration of the environmental impact for\u003cbr\u003eeach new facility or modification to an existing facility in the initial stages of planning in\u003cbr\u003eaccordance with the National Environmental\u003cbr\u003ePolicy Act.\u003cbr\u003e—Development of cost information on alternative process considerations for new facilities\u003cbr\u003eor for modification of existing facilities so\u003cbr\u003ethat budget requests for design and construction shall reflect the most cost-effective alternative for meeting applicable standards.\u003cbr\u003e–Consultation, as appropriate, with Federal,\u003cbr\u003eState, and local regulatory agencies concerning best techniques and methods available for\u003cbr\u003ethe prevention, control, and abatement of\u003cbr\u003ewater pollution.\u003cbr\u003eTo assist users of the manual, bibliographic\u003cbr\u003ereferences are shown as numbers in parentheses\u003cbr\u003ethroughout the text to provide in-depth coverage\u003cbr\u003eof the processes and treatment trains for the\u003cbr\u003emany wastes discussed in this manual.","brand":"ReadCycle","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":47084586041584,"sku":"2940149010943","price":2.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0737\/7593\/9824\/files\/2940149010943_p0.jpg?v=1763710941","url":"https:\/\/shop-qa.barnesandnoble.com\/products\/2940149010943","provider":"Barnes \u0026 Noble (DEV)","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
