The estate included a main house, a writing study lower on the slope towards the Hudson River, a building that his son lived in during the years when Burroughs primarily used the study, and other buildings.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIn the study, which looks east over the Hudson River, Burroughs wrote Fresh Fields (1884), Signs and Seasons (1886), Indoor Studies (1889), and Riverby (1894), and he edited other works.
