C'mon Kyle let's get our stuff and get started.\" Back at the dorm, Calvin's excitement was growing by the minute, and he laughed as he stuffed bags of cookies into his back pack, along with other camping essentials he imagined he would need. He shouted and waved farewell to the other elves as he headed out the door with Kyle following close behind him. Once outside he took in a deep burst of cool fresh air. It was invigorating and as exciting a beginning an any adventure Calvin would ever have. He began to whistle as he cracked the whip near Nadine's ear. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eSuddenly Nadine, the head reindeer, stumbled and when the head reindeer went down, they all went down. The sleigh turned over and threw its occupants headfirst into the snow while the other reindeer stumbled behind Nadine piling on top of each other in a jumbled web of reins, legs and cords. \"Gosh, darn it all to heck!\" Calvin exclaimed once he'd gotten his breath back. The accident had caught him by surprise and had managed to knock the wind out of him. He was barely able to stand as he brushed the snow off of himself then leaned over to lend a hand to Kyle and pull him to his feet.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\"What the hell happened?\" asked Kyle as soon as he checked to see that he himself hadn't been hurt. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\"Not sure. I'll check the deer out and see what gives.\" said Calvin. He examined the hooves of each of the reindeer and gasped when he looked at Nadine's bloody hoof. \"Dammit to hell!\" He exclaimed. a shard of ice has stabbed Nadine in the hoof. \"She's bleeding. We need to get her home or into a hospital. She needs help!\" Calvin began the task of removing the shard of ice from Nadine's hoof. \"Hey, didn't we see some sort of structure or something be few miles back. We only saw it for a moment but I'm sure it was a shelter of some kind. Maybe we can find help there .\" Santa Klaus had warned that elves were never to make contact with humans. But Nadine was seriously injured. Contact couldn't be helped. \"Let's go find that house!\" Calvin had made a quick decision and he enlisted Kyle's help in moving Nadine onto the sleigh. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\"Hang in there Nadine. We'll get you fixed up in a hurry!\" As soon as Calvin cracked the whip the remaining three reindeer flew as fast as they could back in the direction of where the two elves were sure they had seen shelter.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIt was only a little over a mile before they came to the place. Made of dazzling blue white ice that had blended in so well with the blue sky that upon closer inspection it was a vision of random crystals that reached out and upward like a diamond sphere.
