2940157022297
Hidden Treasures
"Hidden Treasures" is actually two literary short stories from "The Beautiful Dreamer" series. Also included is a very short story called "The Sixth Day". Both stories are written in poetic prose.

The first short story, and the title of our booklet, is "Hidden Treasures" which is about an elderly Cherokee woman living inside the boundaries of a National Park created after her home was built. In fact, she thought she was exempt from property taxes because her house was located within the boundaries of the park. This was due to a grandfather clause in her ownership of her property. She is looking for her lost savings bonds (accrued from the profits of her uncle's cotton gin). If she can find the bonds, she can pay her now way overdue property taxes which a local surveyor (through the town government) says she now owes.

Her nephew is afraid that her wild pet fox stole the canister the certificates were in. Neither Tojuwah, nor her nephew, Frederick James, has anywhere near the money to save her house without the savings bonds.

"The Sixth Day" is about a human clone gestated by a national security agency and used for creating a genius-quality scientist. It spans his rejection of the idea, the clone's anger, and finally, his radicalization.

[True facts about clones, sperm donors and living within the boundaries of a National Park are woven into these stories.]
