Haeg's own activities include radical gardening, housing design, curation, grassroots education and political activism; such pursuits dovetail nicely with his salons, at which participants did everything from knitting to dancing. Over the years dozens of artists and orgnizations participated, including Assume Vivid Astro Focus, Anna Sew Hoy, Feral Childe, Eve Fowler, Katie Grinnan, Janfamily, Pipilotti Rist, robbinschilds and KnitKnit, LTTR, K48 and index magazines. Sundown Salon, a beautifully constructed document of those activities, is just as polymorphous, serving as both a book and an exhibition. Printed on a single accordion-folded page, the text (on one side) can be flipped through and read, or the pictures (on the other) can be unfurled to display a 140-foot artwork. Conceived by Haeg in collaboration with Evil Twin Publications' Stacy Wakefield, Sundown Salon comes in five different covers, which were created from drawings made by salon participants.
