In 1987 following  \u003cbr\u003ea Congressional Reduction in Forces, (RIF) he left the service. As an  \u003cbr\u003eEntrepreneur he became the fi rst minority in the country to own and operate a scrap tire and  \u003cbr\u003erecycling facility and processed nearly 2.5 million tires over a fi ve year period into valuable  \u003cbr\u003eproducts for consumers .
