So here I was twenty some years and already married in my heart, comfortable and secure, never giving thought or discussion as to where this relati onship is going, or will he ask for my hand in marriage; just being okay with the way things are because Iâm fi nally with someone who is nothing like the others and I trust him. And the moment that statement was made in my heart, God began to remove the scales from my eyes and reveal things to me through the women and men in my family as I observed their behavior and character to understand why and how I was willing to stay connected to this man while fi nding it diffi cult but very possible to disconnect from something you didnât know was capable of such hurt unti l God allowed it to turn against me, while turning back to HIM, my fi rst love ever.
