He attended advanced infantry  \u003cbr\u003etraining at Camp Pendleton and was assigned the  \u003cbr\u003eMOS 0331, machine guns. He graduated best in class  \u003cbr\u003eand was promoted to the rank of PFC. His fi rst duty station was in Kaneohe  \u003cbr\u003eBay, Hawaii with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Force. He was stationed there  \u003cbr\u003efor 10 months and was promoted to Lance Corporal before being assigned to  \u003cbr\u003ethe 1st Marines in Viet Nam along with the rest of his battalion. They did not  \u003cbr\u003ego as a single unit however, they we split up and sent to reinforce a number of  \u003cbr\u003eunit spread across the I Corps area in Viet Nam. After discharge in June 1968  \u003cbr\u003ehe attended the University of Washington in Seattle, completing a Bachelors  \u003cbr\u003eof Science in psychology. He currently lives in the LA area and spends some  \u003cbr\u003ewriting time in Tampa, Fl. He continues to write his second novel about the  \u003cbr\u003eViet Nam War and his experiences there.
