Tension builds for the reader because we know\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eMichael has an ulterior motive for charming her. His internal conflict\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003emakes him an absorbing character.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIf you like for strong female protagonists, you'll find one here. Ingrid is\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ethe rock of her family, and that's saying a lot because she's the oldest of\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eeight sisters. Eight! That's some serious estrogen power. Ingrid's\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003erelationship with her sisters is one of my favorites parts of the book. She\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eshares easy humor and good-natured ribbing with the older ones.
