He joined the Warsaw Opera Ballet in\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e1958, and in 1964 won the silver medal at the Varna International Ballet\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eCompetition. From 1966-71 he danced with Maurice Béjart’s Ballet of the\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eTwentieth Century, creating roles in Béjart’s Romeo and Juliet, Baudelaire, and\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eActus Tragicus, amongst others. After appearing with Tanz-Forum in Cologne\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eand the Ballet de Marseille, he became a premier danseur at the Boston Ballet,\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e1973-79. Later he held the post of ballet-master at American Ballet Theatre,\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ethe Royal Ballet of Flanders, and English National Ballet, and taught widely\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ein countries all over the world.
