His 2004 volume of poetry \u003cem\u003eTsugumi no Gogo\u003c\/em\u003e (The Close-Mouthed Afternoon) won the Hagiwara Sakutarō Poetry Prize. In 2006, his poetry volume \u003cem\u003eTsuma no Ugen\u003c\/em\u003e (Wife at Starboard) was published; this volume was preceded by his \u003cem\u003eSelected Poems\u003c\/em\u003e. Her second book of poetry \u003cem\u003eZekkyō \u003c\/em\u003e(Border Z) was published in 2008 and was awarded the Bansui Poetry Prize. She has also written a volume of essays on the problems facing contemporary Japanese youth.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eSoh Sakon\u003c\/strong\u003e (1925-2006) was one of the major postwar Japanese poets. His award –winning volume \u003cem\u003eMoeru Haha \u003c\/em\u003e(Mother Burning, 1968) is considered one of the landmark poetry books of his era, if not the twentieth century as a whole.
