"When rich but unscrupulous Paola meets her wholesome but penniless look-a-like Paulina, she threatens her double with imprisonment so that she may run off with her lover in this popular telenovela. Though Paulina is forced to go along with the plan against her better judgment, she soon grows fond of her new identity as she grows ever closer to her new family -- even going so far as to nurture once-powerful family matriarch Grandma Piedad back to health following a harrowing bout with alcoholism.
