Wagon Train: Going West [3 Discs]

"As one of the tried-and-true staples of televised Western dramas during the late '50s and early '60s, Wagon Train (a multi-network program -- it started on NBC and ended on ABC) bore an unusual premise and setup. It told of a group of settlers repeatedly making their way from St. Joseph, MO, to the California coast during the post-Civil War years. Therefore, each season began in St. Joe's and ended in California, and episodes dramatized the men's experiences along the way. The program also bore some distinction for its emphasis on character development over external adventures, and for its unusually prestigious list of guest stars. This set contains 12 episodes, pulled from various seasons and thus not presented in the order in which they originally appeared. These include: ""The Tiburcio Mendez Story,"" ""The Tom Tuesday Story,"" ""The Kurt Davos Story,"" and ""The Nellie Jefferson Story."" Guest stars appearing in this set include Jane Wyatt, Brian Keith, and Dennis Hopper."
