"Sonny Terry was one of the true masters of the blues harmonica, and both as solo act and with guitarist Brownie McGhee, Terry played everywhere from Southern juke joints to Carnegie Hall; his tough rural sound was also a major influence on the American folk music scene, and Terry shared stages with such greats as Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger.
