Stargate [WS] [Special Edition]

"Roland Emmerich's sci-fi blockbuster Stargate comes to DVD in this deluxe edition from Artisan. The disc boasts a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The closed-captioned English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. There are no subtitles on this release. Supplementary materials include a commentary track recorded by the director and producer Dean Devlin (who would go on to collaborate again on Independence Day and Godzilla), deleted footage, production notes, and a pair of theatrical trailers. This is a good disc, but one that seems a bit light for one that is advertised as a special edition. Still, the film's fans will be pleased."
