"Henry Bromell's psychological drama about a hit man who is under the thumb of his abusive father, Panic comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. The transfer does a fabulous job of re-creating the distinctive horizontal compositions Bromell employs. English and Spanish soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital Surround. There are no subtitles, but the English soundtrack is closed-captioned. Supplemental materials include an engaging commentary from Bromell, who offers insights into both the direction of the film as well as the construction of its screenplay; deleted scenes; a trailer; and information about the cast and crew. Artisan, who terribly mishandled this film during its theatrical release, has done right by Panic with the DVD. Hopefully, this disc will help the film find a wider audience."
