Director Rob Reiner's romantic comedy Rumor Has It stars Jennifer Aniston as a happily engaged woman. As she and her intended (Mark Ruffalo) arrive at her parents home for a wedding, she learns that her grandmother (Shirley MacLaine) and her mother once shared a lover. She realizes that her family was the basis for the book and film The Graduate, and the situation grows more complicated when Beau (Kevin Costner), the person who as a young man engaged in the affairs, beds the bride-to-be as well. Rob Reiner took over directorial duties on the film after the original director, Ted Griffin, was fired during production.
