Batman Begins [WS] [2 Discs]

"Batman Begins makes a grand entrance to the world of DVDs with this Two-Disc Deluxe Edition. Featuring the anamorphic widescreen version of the film and a supplemental disc filled with documentaries and extra goodies, this edition knocks the socks off the regular full and widescreen single discs released the same day. Presentation-wise, it couldn't score better, though its bonus features are a bit confusing in their layout. The idea of laying out the second disc as an interactive comic book is an interesting one, but the hunt for things to click on and the grey area between what is a featurette and what is a lame character bio page is a bit off-putting. On the plus side, the content is key here and you really do get an interesting look at the immense production. From casting to filmmakers to their ungodly huge Gotham set, the clips are impressive and shine a light on a practical production that found a happy line between the computer and on-set ingenuity. Also included is a 72-page booklet that features the first Bob Kane Batman story from Detective Comics along with a classic Denny O'Neil story and an issue from the recent Long Halloween comic run. A fine edition that customers should flock to, Warner Bros.' Deluxe Edition of Batman Begins is a recommended release, though one that will need to be revisited in time to correctly get the kind of insight that abounds in the re-released Batman film series."
