"A strange and funny tale about the video age, presidential candidates, and the legendary soul duo the Swanky Modes (Junior Walker and Sam Moore), Tapeheads features a surprisingly well done 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, a new Dolby Digital 5.1 mix (English track only, no subtitles), and the original Dolby Digital 2.0 mix. Picture quality is excellent, and the new Dolby Digital 5.1 track sounds very good without being intrusive to the original film mix. The picture is free of grain and dirt, with colors bright and solid. Extra features include an audio commentary by director Bill Fishman, executive producer Michael Nesmith, and production designer Catherine Hardwicke. The commentary is light and fun, with reminiscing and joking around. Also included is a 16-page booklet of behind-the-scenes photos and notes, plus a bonus CD single titled ""Ordinary Man"" by the Swanky Modes. For some mysterious reason, the original theatrical trailer is not included. Overall, this is a nicely packaged disc for a small, little-known cult classic from the '80s."
