To Russia With Love

In this performance film - shot Friday September 15, 2006 at the Oktyabrsky Hall in St. Petersburg, Russia - celebrated baritone vocalist Dmitri Hvorostovsky headlines a live concert, interpreting a series of Russian standards culled largely from his albums I Met You, My Love and Moscow Nights. In-between selections, an instrumental ensemble comprised of the folk outfit Style of Five and The Moscow Chamber Orchestra under the leadership of Constantine Orbelian delivers interpretations of Russian classical pieces by composers including Khachaturian and Shostakovich.
