"Something Weird has paired up two movies dealing with various forms of sexual ambiguity on this typically well-presented two-fer DVD. Both She-Man and The Sins of Rachel have been transferred to disc in the full-frame aspect ratio of 1.33:1 (there is some slight letterboxing on The Sins of Rachel, but it can hardly be described as widescreen). The transfer of She-Man is clear and precise, from a fine print with solid contrasts, but the source materials for The Sins of Rachel are in much rougher shape, with lots of scratches and a bit of color fading, and the sharpness of the transfer only seems to make the flaws more visible (though given the film's obscurity, trash film advocates will doubtless be forgiving). The audio for both films has been mastered in Dolby Digital Stereo, with the mono mix identical in both channels; the dialogue is in English, with no subtitles or multiple language options. The sound appears to be taken from the original optical tracks of these prints, and consistently The Sins of Rachel sounds a bit rougher than She-Man, though both are certainly audible. Bonus materials include a trailer for The Sins of Rachel and seven other films dealing with homosexuality or cross-dressing, as well as a promo for a personal appearance by gay author Ken Marlowe. A female impersonator struts his/her stuff in a bonus short subject, while three beefcake peep-show loops round out the program. This package has been put together with Something Weird's usual attention to detail, and fans of oddball cinema not put off by ""third sex"" themes will want to give this a spin."
