Alley Tramp/Over 18...and Ready

"If there are sleazy sexploitation films from the 1960's waiting to be uncovered, the folks at Something Weird Video will gladly do the digging, and they've paired up two tales of libidinous young women on this ""Trashy Teen Double Feature"" DVD. (Actually, only one of the films concerns a trashy teen, but let's not nitpick.) Both Alley Tramp and Over 18 . . . And Ready have been transferred to disc in their original full-frame aspect ratio of 1.33:1; the image quality is good considering the vintage (and low budgets) of the two films, and the source materials look fine, though the print of Alley Tramp presented here is noticeably cleaner than the second feature on board. The audio for both films has been mastered in Dolby Digital Stereo, with the monophonic sound mixes for the movies spread over two tracks; the quality is as good as can be expected, though neither film was likely to win an award (then or now) for stellar sound work. The dialogue for both features is in English, with no multiple language options or subtitles. The bonus features include trailers for Alley Tramp and seven other films concerning oversexed teens, two ""educational"" short subjects on teenage dating behavior (including the battered but quite remarkable Teenage Diary) and an aged peep-show loop, Smoke Rings. Anyone interested in the sordid underbelly of American cinema is probably already familiar with Something Weird Video, and this DVD is yet another example of what they do so well; fans of vintage sexploitation will want to find space for this on their shelves."
