"Hosted by Academy award-winning actor Charlton Heston, this video examines several recently uncovered stories and facts of the Korean Conflict. The video is comprised of two episodes of the Secrets of War television series that were originally broadcast on the History Channel. The first episode, ""Behind the Bamboo Curtain,"" investigates what really instigated the Korean Conflict and brought several countries to the brink of nuclear war. Using archival footage and interviews with experts like Professor William Stuek and General Sir Anthony Hockley of the British Royal Navy, the viewer is shown how, with the backing of communist China and Joseph Stalin, the young leader of communist North Korea taunted the United States and caused a war. Much of the information comes from interviews with military officers. The information from government documents was only made available to the public a short time before the making of the episode. In the second part, ""Stalin's Secret Air War,"" the involvement of the Soviet Air Force in the conflict is investigated. Once again, several involved military officers and war experts are asked to explain how the Soviets secretly attacked U.S. airplanes while denying involvement in the conflict."
