The Best of the Flatt and Scruggs TV Show, Vol. 7

"Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs were one of the most popular acts to emerge from the first golden era of bluegrass, and they were the first band playing the revved-up mountain music style to become stars of their own television show. In 1955, Flatt & Scruggs became hosts of their own weekly syndicated series, and The Best of the Flatt & Scruggs TV Show, Vol. 7 features the earliest surviving episode of the show, recorded on July 30, 1956 and recently restored from a decomposing film print by the archivists at the Country Music Hall Of Fame. In addition to the rare early installment of the show, this collection also features highlights from the show's 1960-61 season and a guest appearance by dancer and comedian Kentucky Slim.
