A reporter (Bonnie Somerville) hires an actor (Jordan Bridges) to pose as her fianc? during a Thanksgiving trip to visit her family because she's worried about disappointing her demanding mother (Shelley Long). Though the arrangement starts out as a ruse, the pair begin to develop real feelings for each other.
