"Julie Andrews stars as Gertrude Lawrence in the Robert Wise-directed biopic Star! The film makes a strong debut on DVD with this release, which offers a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.20:1. The English soundtrack is rendered in 5.0 Dolby Digital Surround. English and Spanish subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a commentary track recorded by the director. Wise has had a long and successful career in Hollywood dating back to his credit as an editor on Orson Welles' The Magnificent Ambersons, and his commentary is full of anecdotes and information. Also making for interesting viewing are a pair of featurettes, one dating from the film's production and the other a silver anniversary retrospective. Screen tests for Andrews and male lead Daniel Massey are included, as are photo galleries, trailers, and television advertisements for the film. This is a solid disc from 20th Century Fox."
