The Simpsons Gone Wild

"Four episodes of The Simpsons -- all involving Homer's rambunctious behavior in one way or another -- are featured on this DVD release. The material on The Simpsons Gone Wild has been transferred to disc in the full-frame aspect ratio of 1.33:1, with a robust bit-rate gives the images a welcome clarity; since most of the episodes here are making their DVD debut, this certainly bodes well for 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment's ongoing series of Simpsons box sets. The audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital Stereo, with optional Spanish- and French-dubbed tracks along with the original English versions; English and Spanish subtitles also appear. The only bonus on this set is a collection of gag lines from Krusty the Clown, but Simpsons fans looking for a dose of ""Rowdy Homer"" will get a solid laugh and be pleased with the quality of the presentation. By the way, completists will want to know that the ""Sunday, Cruddy Sunday"" episode features the ""The Catholic Church: We've Made a Few Changes"" commercial parody that was clipped from broadcast repeats of the show due to viewer complaints."
