Based on author Margaret Landon's chronicle of the adventures of 19th-century British schoolteacher Anna Leonowens, this romantic drama tells the story of Anna's influence on the life of the majestic and arrogant King of Siam. The King tried to modernize his country, while simultaneously staying true to its cultural traditions.
