This film affords rare "mainstream" leading roles to some of the era's greatest African-American entertainers. The thinnish plotline focuses on dancer Bill Robinson, who splits up with his singer wife Lena Horne. Horne seeks out solace from Wilson before the inevitable reconciliation.
