EdTV [Collector's Edition]

"Ron Howard's reality-TV satire EDtv gets a deluxe release with this DVD package. The widescreen transfer preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. An English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1, while a French soundtrack is mixed in Dolby Digital Surround. There are no subtitles, but the English soundtrack is closed-captioned. Supplemental features include two different commentary tracks -- one by the director and another by the writers, talent bios, production notes, the theatrical trailer, deleted scenes, outtakes, and a ""making of"" documentary. Although the film failed to click with audiences (it was overshadowed by the seemingly similar The Truman Show), this disc makes every attempt to reach an audience."
