The Gingerbread Man

"Iconoclast director Robert Altman's comparatively conventional film noir The Gingerbread Man comes to DVD with two different transfers. The widescreen image preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1 and does a far better job capturing the atmospheric photography than the standard full-frame 1.33:1 image. A closed-captioned English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. Spanish and French subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a commentary track by the director, cast biographies, and some theatrical trailers. Although it did not receive much of a domestic release, The Gingerbread Man may find new life on DVD thanks to the disc's fine sound and interesting commentary track."
