"Jamie Foxx became a famous and respected leading man thanks to his impressive performance as the music legend Ray Charles in Taylor Hackford's Ray. The initial DVD release of the film allows one to see the actor and the musician together in a featurette titled ""Walking in His Shoes"" that contains footage of the pair playing together. The film itself is presented in a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. English and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. Director Taylor Hackford provides a commentary track in which he gives much credit to all of the people who helped him put this film together. He had been working on it for over ten years by the time he was finally able to begin filming. A featurette consisting of people sharing stories about their experiences with Ray Charles, and uncut performances from the film round out this first-rate release from Universal."
