"This made-for-TV adaptation of the story of a slave who raised an army that challenged the Roman Empire gets a streamlined release on DVD. Spartacus has been given a letterboxed transfer to disc in the widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78:1, which has been enhanced for anamorphic playback on 16 x 9 monitors. The audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital 5.1; in addition to the original English-language soundtrack, this edition features dubbed tracks in French and Spanish, as well as optional subtitles in French and Spanish and closed captions in English. A selection of deleted scenes has been included as a bonus."
